Losing Your Identity for Christ

I’ve bet you heard the saying, "find your identity in Christ". We hear it preached during conferences; we see it plastered on various social media posts; and we’ve become accustomed to saying it without thinking twice. While I’m sure it was created with great intentions, I believe this generation of believers has made the act [...]

Eight Lessons…

So last month (February 17) I turned 26. It was a total wow moment for me because it seems like I was just turning 18 two weeks ago. It’s like my Granny always says, “Once you turn 18, it feels like every six months your birthday is coming around again.” I shake my head every [...]

Continue to follow Jesus. Continue to be the light. Continue to be confident in the person that God created you to be. This year is about to be epic, and I can’t wait to see you do your thannnng! Philippians 4:12-13
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭
LONG POST❗️ Redirection and grace moved me to Detroit—yes, grace. Not the contemporary, gentrified Detroit. But the Detroit that is decorated by blight on nearly every street in my neighborhood. That Detroit, a week ago, changed me—when I was caught in the middle of gunfire on my street. Since then, I’ve been thinking about the kids in my neighborhood, the students I teach less than 5 miles away. Those that deal with that kind of violence ALL of their lives; those that have become immune to the sounds it carries; those who learn to walk their lives guarded because, where they live, peace left a long time ago...them. Often forgotten and misunderstood. . It made me think about all the things we deem important that doesn’t even really matter for real. Like the ministry we think we have to start to reach the thousands of people who have to hear what we say, yet we forget about the good Shepard who leaves the 99...for that one. Are we so focused on winning approval that we neglect the lost? Are we focused on going on mission trips across the ocean, yet we forget about the great commission 15 miles away from us—in THAT neighborhood—reaching that one boy or girl and changing their lives forever. . While I don’t take what happened to me lightly, I’m able to smile because God is so GOOD. I’m fired up for the gospel y’all! FIRED UP 🔥 One life can change one family, one family can change multiple generations to the glory of God! And it’s time to pour out all that God has gifted us with, as we truly become the hands and feet of Jesus! . It’s time to live unashamed brothers and sisters, and an unashamed believer in his or her purest form truly LIVES out the great commission. Be blessed, and GO!
